The Project

A contemporary family residence defined by precision, craftsmanship and a refined material palette, this Templestowe Lower home brings together robust architectural form and warm, highly detailed interiors. Light brickwork, dark metal cladding and expansive glazing create a striking street presence while establishing a strong connection between the home and its surroundings.

Inside, a dramatic floating timber staircase forms the centrepiece of the home, complemented by bespoke joinery, natural stone surfaces and carefully curated finishes throughout. Rich timber detailing and textured materials add warmth and depth, balancing the clean architectural lines.

Designed for modern family living, the home features generous open-plan spaces, integrated storage solutions and seamless indoor-outdoor connections. Large windows and carefully framed views maximise natural light, creating calm, inviting interiors that are both functional and timeless.

Large-format glazing and the central living pavilion required careful sequencing and installation, particularly around the feature fireplace, which acts as both a structural and spatial anchor within the home.

Externally, the integration of landscaping, courtyards and outdoor living areas was critical to the success of the project. Close collaboration between builder, architect and landscape ensured that thresholds, levels and material transitions were resolved with consistency and intent.
